Welcome to emptylaw. This website is a labor of love for me. I hope you will find encouragement and understanding here. While some of my essays are more like rants, they may be of some value to you, so I have included a few of these. I am an imperfect man with limited understanding in many areas of life, but I offer what I have.
About the coolest thing in my life is being a father and a grandfather. I am very grateful to God for allowing me to be a parent and I relate to God, mainly as my Dad. I often desire to feel His arms around me and be carried on His shoulders, as I have carried my son. I love my Papa God, more than anyone or anything and I still am surprised at how tolerant, loving and patient He is with me.
Redemption
My life is pretty much all about redemption, by this I mean the repayment of a debt that we incur through our wrong-doing and the purchasing back of something previously lost, which is ourselves. We have all offended God and one another and we have all lost parts of ourselves through our own actions and injury from others. I believe in the redemption of people, I am convinced that we can be redeemed through Jesus.
It is frequently difficult for me to understand why pain and suffering happen to people. I always want God to intercede in lives, to rescue them, or heal them. sometimes I see miracles, other times I don't see any change. I believe in God, that He loves us and delights in us, so at times I just don't get it.
I understand basic theology 101 - sin entered the world and this is why everything is the way it is. We have free will, this includes the power to hurt one another, which we seem to be pretty adept at. Free will also means that we can choose or reject God's loving kindness and forgiveness. It is difficult to understand why people choose to live in their pain and suffering, unwilling to humble themselves before God. As for me, I am not able to live without my Creator, He is my one true love, He knows everything about me, all of my secret thoughts, and yet He is so in love with me - how cool is this?
